How has the "Pets Go Raw" diet helped your pet?

Still faithfully feeding "Pets Go Raw"

Can I feed just meat?

NO – you need a variety of meats as well as vegetables and fruits to mimic nature. “Pets go Raw” food has a well-balanced variety. You can feed the occasional meal of straight meat, and can also easily eliminate any foods that may be causing allergies.

Why do I need oil?

Oils, particularly “COLD” fish and sea mammal oils, balance the Omega 3 and 6 essential for your pet’s health. These oils promote health and a lovely, soft, lustrous coat.

What about my pet's stool?

Your pet may have a looser than normal stool when switching, but should turn chalky and dry in a week or two. Also you will have much less clean up to do.

My dog has gone off his food – what should I do?

If your dog is active and healthy, don’t worry. We all have times when we aren’t as hungry. If you have been feeding only one variety of meat – try to work in another kind. Would you want to eat chicken day in and day out? “Pets Go Raw” comes in many varieties to encourage a broad spectrum of food choices.

How can I get my dog to gain weight?

Try feeding tripe or chicken backs (carcasses).

My dog is overweight – what can I do?

Try decreasing “meat” and increasing Veggie/fruit content for a while. Also use “chewing bones” to satisfy hunger. Somewhat as you would chew gum to help to alleviate your hunger. Watch the marrow filled bones as too much marrow may cause diarrhea.

What about “staining” around the eyes
or “passing wind”?

Watch what Veggies you are feeding. “Pets Go Raw” does not use beets, any of the cabbage family, or other ingredients known to cause these problems.

My dog is “Itchy” – what can I do?

If you are feeding a good quality oil, look for allergies – could be food related or other – a few dogs are even allergic to grass!!! To test for food allergies, go back to the basics – i.e., chicken with bone. If there is an improvement, gradually try introducing other foods.

Will my dog become aggressive because of
the raw meat?

Dogs are known to become less aggressive with a RAW diet. Possibly this is because their psychological as well as nutritional needs are being met.

Will my family get infections or become ill
from handling the food?

Like any raw meat, you should take proper care, wash the counter and utensils with soap and water, and wash your hands after feeding. If reasonable care is taken, you will have no problems. “Pets Go Raw” is made from inspected products and is handled with care and attention to health concerns.

Still faithfully feeding “Pets Go Raw”

We have moved from Cranbrook to Fort McMurray and are still faithfully feeding Satchy your “Pets Go Raw”. We are able to get it in Edmonton. Satchy receives many compliments from people on how handsome he is, his great shape, his awesome coat and nice teeth. We attribute much of this to his healthy diet.

We actually find the raw dog food more convenient to use. It stays in the freezer and a half dozen patties come out at a time and go into their own sealed container in the fridge. From there to the dog dish and that is it. No bags that get holes, no crumbs, no little weevils living in the cupboards. No standing in the grocery store trying to figure out the ingredient labels, no lugging those bags into the house and storing somewhere. No bad dog breath or bad poo’s. Plus…. There is variety, unlike the dry food. Best of all Satchy loves it and is always eager for his meal.
